Deloris Hervey began her career as a writer, director, and producer in 2012, inspired to create her first stage play, Ima Keep It Real With You. The play told the story of teenage girls striving for a performing arts scholarship, exploring themes of perseverance and change. With no formal training, Deloris relied on her natural gifts, talents, and faith in the Lord. She dedicated herself to training aspiring actors ranging from ages 14 to 60, nurturing their growth and passion for the craft.
Her journey in theater continued with the creation of four additional stage plays: The Letter, Why Am I Here, Really Mom, and Wrath of a Broken Man, each showcasing her commitment to storytelling that resonates with diverse audiences and building faith. Deloris’ early work laid the foundation for her ongoing contributions to the performing arts, blending her vision with a deep sense of purpose.
Seeking to become well-rounded in the industry, Deloris expanded her passion for storytelling into the world of film. She joined Brilliant Women in Film, a women’s film group that helped her sharpen her production skills and transition into filmmaking. Building on the success of her sold-out stage play Wrath of a Broken Man, Deloris transformed it into a feature film, which is currently in post-production. Her versatility in the industry is evident through her work as a producer, casting director, production assistant, and more on various film projects in the Houston area. Deloris remains committed to creating impactful stories, both on stage and screen.
